Privacy & cookies
Last updated: 20 July 2026
decking.studio ("we", "the service") is a browser-based tool for designing decks on your own 3D scans. This page explains what data we handle and how. We've written it in plain language.
Your 3D scans and designs
When you open a .glb scan in the designer, the file is read locally in your browser. It is not uploaded to us or to any third party. Your drawn footprints, deck configurations, prices and settings are stored in your browser's local storage on your device, so your work is still there when you come back. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Cookies and local storage
We use only strictly necessary browser storage to make the app work and remember your work:
- Local storage — saves your deck designs, material prices and preferences on your device.
- Consent flag — remembers that you've seen the cookie notice, so it isn't shown again.
We do not currently use analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies. If we add optional analytics in the future, we'll ask for your consent first and update this page.
Third-party services
The site loads web fonts from Google Fonts and is hosted on Vercel. These providers may process technical data such as your IP address and browser type as part of delivering the page, in line with their own privacy policies. No personal account or design data is shared with them.
Data we don't collect
We don't require an account to use the designer, and we don't collect names, emails or payment details on this page. If paid access is introduced later, any such processing will be described here and handled by a dedicated payment provider.
Your rights
Because your designs live on your own device, you're in control: you can delete them any time by clearing your browser storage for this site. For questions about this policy, contact hello@decking.studio.
Changes
We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
